What show is this TikTok? How to find an anime or show's name from a TikTok

Published 16 October 2026.

Short answer: look at the caption first, then open the comments and find someone asking "name?". The answer is usually in the replies under it. With CommentSift, paste the TikTok link and it reads the caption for you. TikTok doesn't let apps read comments, so for those you copy the comments yourself and paste them into CommentSift too.

Find it by hand

  1. Read the caption. Tap "more" if it is cut off. Clip accounts often put the show's name, or a hashtag with it, in the caption.
  2. Look at the hashtags. Next to general tags like #anime or #kdrama there is often one that is the show's name.
  3. Open the comments. Look for "name?", "what anime is this?" or "title pls". Tap View replies under them. That's where the answer usually is.
  4. Check the pinned comment. Some creators pin the name at the top of the comments.
  5. Look at the creator's other videos. Clip accounts often post several parts of the same show, and another part may have the name in its caption.
  6. Still nothing? Screenshot a clear frame and search it with Google Lens.
  7. Check the name you found. Look it up on AniList (anime and manga) or Wikipedia to make sure it's the right show.

Find it with CommentSift

Step 1: paste the TikTok link

  1. In TikTok, tap Share (the arrow on the right), then Copy link. Short links that start with vm.tiktok.com work too.
  2. Open CommentSift and tap Paste. If the Paste button doesn't work on your phone, paste the link into the box yourself and tap Find the name.

CommentSift reads the video's public caption, including its hashtags. If the caption names the show, that may be all you need.

Step 2: if the caption doesn't say, paste the comments

TikTok doesn't let apps read its comments, so CommentSift can't open them for you. When the caption has no name, CommentSift says so and opens a box called On TikTok, Instagram or another app? Paste the comments.

  1. Go back to TikTok and open the comments.
  2. Copy them. You don't need all of them: the "name?" comments and the replies under them are enough. On a computer you can select a whole stretch of comments at once.
  3. Paste them into the box. Keep the TikTok link in the box above, so the caption is read as well.
  4. Tap Find the name in these comments.

Copying is hard on your phone? You can type what you see. Put the question on one line and each answer on its own line under it, like in the box's example.

What a paste looks like

This is a made-up example, not a real video or real comments. It shows what you get when you copy a question and its reply straight from an app:

anime_fan_22
name??
2d
Reply
314
sky.reader
it's Starlight Noodle Club

You don't need to tidy it up. CommentSift skips lines like usernames, times ("2d") and "Reply". A number on its own line counts as the likes of the comment above it. The next few lines after a question count as replies to it, so "it's Starlight Noodle Club" is read as the answer to "name??".
