What telenovela is this? How to find a novela's name from a YouTube Short

Published 3 November 2026.

Short answer: telenovela clips are full of "¿cómo se llama la novela?" comments, and the answer is usually in the replies. Open them yourself, or paste the link into CommentSift and it reads the comments and replies for you, in Spanish or English.

Why telenovela clips rarely say the name

Clip channels post one dramatic scene, often with a caption like "She found out the truth" or "La verdad salió a la luz", and leave the show's name out. The name is often in the hashtags, the description or a reply. Many telenovelas also have a different name in English, or a new version with almost the same name as an older one, so check the year and the cast.

What people write in the comments

If you're searching the comments yourself, these are the questions to look for. The answer is usually in the replies under them.

How to look by hand

  1. Open the comments and sort by Top comments.
  2. Look for one of the questions above, or "what show is this?". Tap replies under it.
  3. Check the hashtags and the description. A hashtag like #telenovela or #novela often sits next to the show's name.
  4. Still nothing? Screenshot a clear frame of the lead actor and search it with Google Lens, then look through their shows.
  5. Found a name? Check it on Wikipedia to make sure the year and the cast match the clip.

How to do it with CommentSift

  1. In the YouTube app, tap Share under the video (on Shorts it's the arrow on the right).
  2. Tap Copy link.
  3. Open CommentSift and tap Paste. It starts looking right away. If the Paste button doesn't work on your phone, paste the link into the box yourself and tap Find the name.

CommentSift reads the comments, the replies under them and the description, including hashtags. It understands Spanish questions and answers like the ones above. When it finds a name, it shows where it came from and checks it against Wikipedia. If nobody has named it yet, it says so instead of guessing, and you can add the video to your check-back list.

CommentSift reads comments on YouTube links, from the app or a browser. TikTok and Instagram don't let apps read comments, so there you copy and paste them in: here is how to find a show's name from a TikTok.

Telenovela, series or movie?

You don't need to know. CommentSift looks for telenovelas, other TV series and movies the same way, and also for K-dramas, anime and manhwa.
