About CommentSift

Updated 3 November 2026.

CommentSift finds the name of the anime, manhwa, drama, movie or show in a short video. It reads what other viewers already wrote in the comments, so you don't have to scroll through hundreds of them.

Why we made it

You see a great clip on YouTube Shorts, TikTok or Reels, and nobody says what show it's from. The answer is usually somewhere in the comments, buried under jokes and "name?" questions. CommentSift does that digging for you.

How it works

You paste a YouTube link, or paste comments you copied from TikTok or Instagram.
CommentSift reads the public comments, the replies under them and the description.
It picks out the names people give, checks them against public databases such as Wikipedia, and shows you where each answer came from.
If nobody has named it yet, it says so instead of guessing. You can add the video to your check-back list and look again later.

Answers come from other viewers, so they can be wrong. Always check the links we give.

Who makes it

CommentSift is made by a small independent team. The same team makes Payoff Snowball, a free debt payoff calculator. CommentSift is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube, Google, TikTok or Instagram.

How it stays free

CommentSift is free and needs no sign-up. If it helped you, you can leave an optional tip through Ko-fi (the link is at the bottom of the home page). Tips don't unlock anything. See our Terms of Use.

Your privacy

We read only what's public on the video, and we don't save comments you paste. Our Privacy Policy lists exactly what we keep and for how long.
